Frogs & Fairytales at The Chaffee Zoo March 7th

Hear ye, hear ye! All the princesses, knights and amphibians of the land are invited to “leap forward” to daylight-saving time at Fresno Chaffee Zoo’s enchanting event, Frogs & Fairytales! This magical event will take place on Saturday, March 7 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Come dressed as your favorite fairytale character (costumes encouraged, but not required) and learn about your amphibian friends. Journey through the Zoo to an enchanting place for a delicious snack at the royal court. We’ll have a jumpin’ good time with educational frog games, photo opportunities with fairytale characters, charismatic craft activities, cookie decorating and even makeovers! Plus, meet live frogs and reptiles!
 
Zoo admission for the day is included with your event ticket purchase. Admission prices are as follows:

(Children 1 and under are free)

Adults $14 (12 years and up)
Children $12 (2-11 years)

Clovis Rodeo Ticket Office Is Open

Clovis Rodeo Ticket Office Is Open

You can now buy your tickets in person at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds box office for the 101st Clovis Rodeo. The 101st Clovis Rodeo takes place April 23-26, 2015 with four-days of hoof pounding rodeo action and back to back concerts.

The box office located at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds at 748 Rodeo Drive, south of Fifth Street, just off of Clovis Avenue. Fans can buy tickets in-person 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily Monday through Friday. Box office hours will be extended in April.

The Clovis Rodeo will include back to back concerts for rodeo fans attending the Thursday and Friday night performances. Immediately following the opening of the 101st Clovis Rodeo and the PBR Bull Riding Touring Pro Division on Thursday, April 23 will be the country rock sound of Parmalee. Rising star Frankie Ballard will entertain Friday Night rodeo fans with a little “Sunshine and Whiskey” on April 24.

IHOP® restaurants are celebrating the tenth anniversary of National Pancake Day on March 3, 2015, once again offering one free short stack of their famous buttermilk pancakes to guests to enjoy in our restaurants in the hopes that they will pay it forward by making a voluntary donation to their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Shriners Hospital for Children, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or other local charities.

Participating IHOP Restaurants plan to give away millions of free pancakes,” from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3 to celebrate this “Decade of Giving”.

More than 1,500 IHOP restaurants across the United States will participate in this beloved annual event which, to date, has raised $16 million for charity. All of the donations raised stay within the communities, helping provide lifesaving treatment and equipment for local sick and injured children.

African American Student Leadership Conference

Uniting hundreds of students from across the Valley, the 8th annual African American Student Leadership Conference at Clovis North High School on Tuesday, February 24 aims ignite bright futures for all in attendance.

Seventh through twelfth grade students from Central Unified, Clovis Unified, Fresno Unified, Hanford West High School and, for the first time, Madera Unified will convene at the Performing Arts Center on the Clovis North campus for the innovative leadership conference.

This year’s theme is “IGNITE: Your Dreams and Your Future” and is designed to educate, inspire, and encourage students to achieve academic excellence and cultivate positive cultural and social change.
