Man Shot, Horse Killed In Prather

Glenn Champ has been arrested.

Tulare County sheriff's deputies found Champ just south of Goshen.

He will be turned over to the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.

Fresno deputies were looking for Champ in connection with a shooting in Prather.

Deputies say he shot his neighbor on Lynx Road following an argument.

Champ ran for California governor last year.

The man he's accused of shooting was shot in his stomach and was airlifted to the hospital.

The victim's son was reportedly there when his father was shot.

Deputies say Champ then shot and killed a horse for unknown reasons.

Champ is facing charges for attempted murder, child endangerment, and animal cruelty.

The shooting victim's condition was not known at the time of this report.

The LEMOORE LIONS CLUB will be holding its 6th Annual Brewfest on August 23, 2014. The event will be from 5pm – 9pm at the Lemoore Lions Club Park, located at the corner of Fox Street and Fallenleaf Drive in Lemoore. You must be 21 years or older to attend the event. Ticket prices are $35 each, which includes musical guest 51 Aces and unlimited beer and sausage sampling. Additional food and wine sampling, as well as soda and water, is also included. Designated driver tickets are available for $20 each and include everything except for alcohol tasting.

Castle Air Museum Open Cockpit Day, August 31st

On August 31st, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Castle Air Museum located at 5050 Santa Fe Dr., in Atwater will be celebrating Open Cockpit Day. This year, as in the past, the most popular aspect of the Day will be the opening of many of the 58 aircraft which are on display at the Museum. Among those that will be open are the B-29, B-17, SR-71, B-52, KC-135, F-15, and an F-14 Tomcat of “Top Gun” fame. The Museum is world renowned, and since its beginning in 1979, has been recognized for the wonderful collection of restored military aircraft.

Tulare Fair Foundation Fundraiser Cattle Drive August 19 & 26

The Tulare County Fair Foundation is asking for donations of dairy cows or beef animals for a Cattle Drive to raise funds for the renovation of the Youth Livestock Show Pavilion.

The animals will be auctioned off at 8 a.m. at the Tulare Sales Yard on Aug. 19 and Aug. 26. To arrange pickup of the donated animals, call Rick Faria, 905-5811.

Cash donations will also be accepted. Checks should be made payable to the non-profit Tulare County Fair Foundation. Donors will be recognized with signage at the Pavilion, during the fair (Sept. 10-14), and on the web site, www.tcfair.org.
