Tulare County Academic Decathlon | Community Spirit

The Tulare County Office of Education will host the 2013 Tulare County Academic Decathlon, a 10-event, scholastic competition for teams of high school students on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Thirteen teams of Tulare County students will compete in two school categories – large school and small school – for the chance to advance to the state competition. The teams represent the following schools:
Large School Competitors
El Diamante High School Team A (Visalia)
El Diamante High School Team B (Visalia)
Granite Hills High School (Porterville)
Monache High School (Porterville)
Porterville High School
Redwood High School (Visalia)
Tulare Union High School
Tulare Western High School
Small School Competitors
Dinuba High School
Harmony Magnet Academy (Strathmore)
Orosi High School Team A
Orosi High School Team B
Woodlake High School
Note: Four ‘at large” teams made up of students from Harmony Magnet, Monache and El Diamante will also participate simply for practice. These teams cannot advance to the state level. The scores of students on the ‘at large’ teams will not be added to their respective high school team scores.
Interview, Speech and Essays: January 26, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Porterville College, Porterville
Academic Testing, Super Quiz and Awards: February 2, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Mission Oak High School, Tulare
(Please note: only the Super Quiz and the Awards Ceremony are open to the public)
