Tulare County Registrar of Voters, Rita A. Woodward, would like to announce the success of voter registration collection efforts for the General Election.
Prior to the close of registration there were 141,443 active registered voters.
The Elections office was open until Midnight on October 22, the deadline to register to vote for the General Election, held on November 6, 2012, in an effort to encourage new registrations.
The office collected approximately 652 registration cards on October 22, 325 of which were received after normal business hours but before midnight. In addition to regular registration cards we received over 800 registrations from the California Secretary of State’s new on-line registration process.
Total registration for Tulare County will be reaching 145,000 active voters; that number is up from the close of registration for the June Primary this year of 139,946 active voters.
The Election office is also receiving over 2,000 voted ballots per day through the US Post Office.
